Optus has commenced a global search for a new CEO after Monday’s resignation of Kelly Bayer Rosmarin.
The move comes after two national blunders which involved a security breach for customers in 2022, followed by a nationwide outage in 2023 which lasted for around 14 hours.
According to The Australian, former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian is understood to have flagged her interest in the top job as she currently sits on Optus executive board.
Parent company Singtel is reportedly looking for a safer option and is likely to parachute in one of its own from Singapore.
The former premier s ascendancy may also be hindered by ICAC s corruption findings against her.
