Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says the only Democrat who can lose to Donald Trump is Joe Biden, and the only Republican who can lose to Joe Biden is Donald Trump.
It is all but sealed that the 2024 US election will be a Trump-Biden rematch, as the former president continues to dominate the Republican primaries.
“Both parties have sort of gone out with their weakest candidate,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.
“They are going to try and win a very, very tight election in November.
“It will come down to the same five or six states it has for the last couple of elections.”
